Maharashtra recorded 8,369 new cases of coronavirus on Tuesday, the total number of coronavirus cases now stand at 3,27,031. The total number of recorded patients are 1,82,217. Active cases in the state are at 1,32,236 and 246 deaths were recorded in the last 24 hours.
The recovery rate of the state is at 55.72 per cent. More than 7.5 lakh people are in-home quarantine and 45,077 are in institutional quarantine. So far, the state has tested more than 16 lakh samples. The authorities have started giving some relaxations in the rules of lockdown in some parts of Mumbai. But the high-risk areas and containment zones continue to observe strict lockdown. Apart from rapid testing, there are also arrangements being made for additional beds and other requirements to tackle the situation.
The recovery rate of the state is increasing gradually which comes across as a relief. While there are various vaccines in the trial phases, nothing conclusive has come out as yet. There are however various treatments that are being given to the patients. Drugs like Remdesivir and Tocilizumab are also being used in order to treat the patients. Several trials of the vaccine for coronavirus are still going on and the results of Oxford University are showing positive results in the first set of trials.
Apart from oral medicine, plasma therapy too is being adopted as it has proved beneficial in some cases.
The total number of coronavirus cases in India stand at 11,94,085 and more than 7 lakh people have recovered.
