Praja Foundation, in its report, has placed three women corporators on the top for their work. While Shiva Sena’s woman corporator Kishori Pendekar has been ranked at the first spot in the foundation’s report on the basis of her work as a corporator, Congresswoman corporator Shweta Korgaonkar followed by Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Preeti Satam.
While addressing a press conference at Mumbai Press Club, Praja Foundation founder Nitai Mehta and Director Milind Mhaske presented the report on progress report of corporators. According to the report, All India Majlis-e-Ittehad-ul Muslimeen (AIMIM) corporator Shahnawaz Sheikh has ranked the lowest with a score of merely 27.80. BJP’s Keshreben Patel has got 33.19 followed by Samajwadi Party’s leader 33.56.

The rankings and points given to the corporators are on the basis of their attendance during meetings, their interaction including asking queries during the meeting, use of funds, educational qualification, Income Tax, and their popularity in their constituency.
Well, the good news in this report is that in the last time like this, there has been a decrease in criminal records on corporators. In the last one, i.e. in 2013-16, where 49 corporators were booked in criminal cases, this time, till December 2017, 37 corporators have registered criminal cases.
As per the report, there has been a decrease in criminal records on corporators. Earlier during 2013-16, 49 corporators had criminal cases registered against them. However, now the number has decreased to 37 corporators possessing criminal records.
