Mumbai has recorded a minimum temperature touching 16 degrees on Monday night, November 25, making it city’s coldest November day in the past eight years.

Prior to this, the coldest November temperature was recorded in 2016 when the minimum temperature dipped to 16.3 degrees on November 11.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD)’s Santacruz observatory logged 16.8 degree Celsius, which is nearly four degrees below the normal; whereas Colaba station recorded 22.5 degree Celsius.

The maximum temperature recorded was 33.1 degree Celsius at Santacruz and 32 degrees Celsius at Colaba.

According to the weather forecast, the city’s cold spell will continue with the minimum temperatures expected to record 17 degrees for the next 3-4 days, at least.

Last week, the minimum temperatures had dropped to 18.5 degrees, making it the city’s second coldest November night this season.

For the record, Mumbai’s coldest November day was recorded in 1950 when the Santacruz station logged a minimum of 13.3 degrees.
