Mumbai Rains Update: "These" Local Train, Bus Services Affected Due To Waterlogging

Mumbai and its suburbs has been experiencing heavy downpour overnight, resulting in widespread waterlogging. This has disrupted the daily life of Mumbaikars leading to traffic on roads, diversion of buses, cancellation of several trains.

Mumbai and its suburbs has been experiencing heavy downpour overnight, resulting in widespread waterlogging. This has disrupted the daily life of Mumbaikars leading to traffic on roads, diversion of buses, cancellation of several trains, and flights on Monday, July 8.

According to a latest update, the local train services on Central Railway's (CR) main line down and up fast line between CSMT Thane is suspended due to water logging at various places. However, Dn & Up slow lines are running late.

Meanwhile, harbour line services are temporarily suspended due to waterlogging at Chunnabhati.

Additionally, several long distance trains have also been cancelled and short terminated.

On the other hand, the Western Railway (WR)'s Mumbai Suburban trains are running upto 10 mins late because water is above track level between Matunga Rd and Dadar due to heavy rains.
Officials stated that high capacity water pumps are being utilised to drain waters away from the railway tracks to ensure a smooth commute for Mumbaikars.

Moreover, heavy traffic is seen on the Western Express Highway (WEH) near Vile Parle.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted heavy to very heavy rainfall in Mumbai on July 7.

"In the wake of continuous rains, the entire machinery of the BMC is working on the field. Mumbaikar are requested not believe in any rumours. Also to step out of the house only if it is necessary. In case of an emergency, call 1916 for immediate assistance," civic officials added.
