A separate monsoon emergency control room has been operationalized for 'Dahisar – Andheri West Metro 2A', 'Dahisar – Gundavali Metro 7' and Chembur – Jacob Circle Monorail. The chamber is commissioned by the Maha Mumbai Metro Rail Corporation (MMMOCL), which is responsible for the operation and maintenance of both the metro lines and the monorail. Also, the maintenance and repair works of Metro, Mono have been completed in view of the rainy season. Necessary measures have also been taken in view of the rainy season.


This cell will be functioning to ensure that the services of Metro 2A, Metro 7 and Mono remain smooth during monsoons, and if there are any problems during monsoons, they can be resolved immediately. This room will be functioning 24 hours and this room will be attached to the Emergency Control Room of Mumbai Municipal Corporation. Anemometers have been installed at ten metro stations of Metro 2A and 7 in order to accurately plan metro implementation by monitoring the wind speed during rain. This anemometer will be useful for real-time monitoring as it measures the wind speed accurately. MMMOCL's premises will be equipped with state-of-the-art technology to ensure seamless Metro services and to mitigate any hazards arising from inclement weather, a team of skilled Metro Officers - Workmen will be working 24 hours a day in three shifts.


MMMOCL has installed 64 CCTV cameras at each metro station to ensure the safety of metro passengers. Meanwhile, all the pre-monsoon maintenance and repair works in the Metro-Mono station and depot have been completed. The MMMOCL has conducted a thorough inspection of the entire alignment of the Metro and Monorail lines to detect any potential obstructions such as hoardings and other potential obstructions that may interfere with the services of the Metro and Monorail. In addition, tree branches are also being pruned where necessary.
