In view of Holi, the Mumbai Police has announced restrictions on several activities to ensure public safety and maintain peace in the city.

The order, issued by Deputy Commissioner of Police (Operations) Akbar Pathan, will be in effect from March 12 to March 18.

Here's List of Restrictions:

  • Using obscene language and songs
  • Offensive gestures and symbols, displaying pictures, placards or other objects that may be considered indecent, immoral, or offensive to public dignity.
  • No carrying, preparing or throwing of Water Balloons -- whether plain or coloured -- is not permitted in public spaces during the festive period.
  • To prevent harassment and inconvenience, throwing or spraying coloured water, dyes, or powders on people without consent is strictly prohibited.

The order further states that any person violating or aiding in the violation of these restrictions will face strict action under Section 135 of the Maharashtra Police Act, 1951.

Additionally, residents are urged to celebrate responsibly, respecting others' rights and maintaining decorum in public spaces. The police have assured that they will closely monitor public areas and take action against any disruptions.
