In the Panvel municipal area, the municipal administration is going to construct new crematoriums at two places in Taloja settlement, four places at Koynavele and Ghot. For this, the municipality is going to spend INR 10.68 lakh. The tender was announced recently.
In Taloja Colony various political parties had to organise a mass agitation to make available crematorium for both Hindu and Muslim faiths. After the transfer of the concerned plot from the CIDCO board, the municipal administration has taken possession of the plot and started the development work on it.

The municipality is going to construct a crematorium in an area of 1499.53 sq. meters on Plot No. 10 at Sector 15 in Taloja Phase one, 578 Sqm Plot in Taloja Phase 2, Plot of 1261 Sq Meters in Koynavele and 56.53 square meters at Ghot. The construction department of the municipality has announced a tender of 10 crore 68 lakh 16 thousand rupees for the same.
