Citizens are suffering due to rising temperatures in the country. Against this backdrop, the Health Department has released separate guidelines for employees working in various companies and factories. Accordingly, instructions have been given to keep cold water at the workplace and remind the workers to drink a glass of water at least every 20 minutes.
The temperature is increasing day by day in the state and the weather department has predicted the possibility of further increase in the temperature in the next few days. Due to increasing heat, there is a possibility that the citizens will suffer from heat stroke. Therefore, the Health Department has released guidelines for the general public. But since citizens working in companies and factories are working continuously, the health department has issued separate guidelines for them and issued instructions to follow them.
According to this, it is necessary to provide cold drinking water at the workplace and to remind the employees to drink a glass of water every 20 minutes or more, instructions have been given to the companies.
Also, temporary shelter should be set up at the workplace for employees, outside work should be planned between morning and evening. Also, if it is necessary to send the employees out, it has been made mandatory to give them five minutes rest after one hour of work. It has also been said that the speed of work should be reduced or additional workers should be appointed.
Plan work hours
Make sure everyone is properly acclimated to working at higher temperatures. It takes a few weeks to acclimate to hot weather. Do not work more than three hours in one day during the five days of the start of work. Gradually increase the amount of work and time. Train workers to recognise factors that increase the risk, signs, and symptoms of heat-related illness.
