BMC cuts water connection as builder fails to clear the bill

About 2 thousand families in Subhash Nagar of Chembur are yearning for water. It is said that local builder of that locality is responsible for this crucial situation. According to the residents, the builder has not paid the outstanding water bill of about Rs 3.50 crore due to which municipality had cut the water connection.

The rehabilitation project was taken by the builder and it was decided that the pending water bill will be cleared by the builder. The builder did not pay the bill due to which BMC send notice to residents of that locality. Residents have requested BMC officials to give some more time to clear the bill.

Local corporator Asha Marathe said that BMC should recover the outstanding amount from the builder; she also said that if BMC troubles common people they would protest against them.
