The runner-ups of the previous edition of Shivaji Park Gymkhana T20 tournament, Payyade Cricket Club have won the tournament by beating Mumbai Police Gymkhana by six wickets. 

The openers, Harsh Tank (46 runs) and Prasad Pawar (39 not out), scored the winning runs and leading the team to its maiden victory. Last year at the final, National Cricket Club snatched the victory from Payyade Cricket Club, who won by just two runs.

Mumbai Police Gymkhana won the toss and decided to bat first, but both the openers returned to the pavilion at the score of 19 runs. Shrikant Limbole (31 runs) and Shashikant Kadam (25 runs) tried to retain the innings for Mumbai Police. But Kalpesh Sawant and Deepak Shetty once again hit back at Mumbai Police. With the impressive performance of the Payyade bowlers, the Mumbai Police made 115 for seven in 20 overs. 

Kevin Almeda tried to give a good start to Payyade Club but in the fourth over he lost his wicket leaving the Payyade at 26 for two wickets. But the winning partnership of 74 runs between Prasad Pawar and Harsh Tank for the third wicket brought Payyade Club close to victory. The Payyade Club won the match with 5 overs to spare.

Harsh Tank won the player of the tournament. Mumbai Police’s Jai Bisht and Santosh Shinde won the best batsman and best bowler awards respectively. All the winners were felicitated by the former cricketer, Dilip Vengsarkar.
