A 73-year-old man was arrested for allegedly raping the six-year-old daughter of his neighbour, according to an official.
On September 14 afternoon, the accused, identified as Sultan Bandagisaheb Atnur, wooed the girl under some pretext to his house. He then tied her hands with rope, stuffed her mouth with a handkerchief, tied and raped her, the official said.

The girl told her ordeal to her parents, who then approached the police and lodged a complaint. Under the provisions of the Bharatiya Nyay Sanhita and the POCSO Act, Atnur was arrested.
