The Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS) has arrested 17 Bangladeshi infiltrators in a special operation that was conducted across the state. It includes three women. 10 cases have been registered in Thane, Navi Mumbai, Mumbai city, Nashik. It has been found that the accused have produced Indian Aadhaar card and PAN card through forged documents.


A special operation has been conducted by the Anti-Terrorism Squad with the help of the local police to search for Bangladeshi citizens residing illegally in various places in Maharashtra and to take action against them. As a part of it, Bangladeshi nationals who entered India illegally were searched in the cities including Thane, Navi Mumbai, Mumbai city, Nashik etc.

A total of 10 crimes have been registered in various police stations so far under the Foreign Nationals Act, 1946, Passport (Entry into India) Act, 1950, Passport Act, 1967. A total of 17 illegally residing Bangladeshi citizens including 14 men and 3 women have been arrested. Bangladeshi citizens use fake documents to get Aadhaar card, PAN card etc. It has been observed during this campaign that identity cards have also been prepared.
