Court orders inquiry into assault on accused

Mumbai-The Special NIA court has ordered an inquiry into the assault on Manohar Narwaria in jail. Narwaria is an accused in the Malegaon blast case and is currently lodged in Mumbai's Arthur Road jail. He had complained that jail authorities had assaulted him.The court has registered Narwaria's statement and ordered an inquiry against Jail officer A.S Pansare, H. S. Mint, Sachin Zinzurde and security guard Shivaji Devkar. The court hs also issued a notice to Dr. Amol Bhikane for not giving a detailed report of Narwaria 's health. When Narwaria was presented to the court through video conferencing, both his hands were covered in plaster.
