In another shocking incident, Chembur police have arrested a 24-year old man for allegedly raping a woman after he threatened to assault her in the same way as the Saki Naka victim.
The incident took place at around 3 AM on Saturday, September 25. The victim and her friend were stopped by the accused in an alley while they were returning home.
The police officers have said that the victim went for a stroll with her male friend at Marine Drive and was returning. The accused, who knew the 20-year old woman, stopped them with an iron rod in his hand. Her male friend fled from there, leaving her alone at the spot.
The accused then told the victim that she would be brutalised similarly as Saki Naka assault victim. Since she got scared, the woman followed him in a nearby vacant lane where he raped her.
