The railway police managed to arrest the accused who abducted a 5-year-old boy from Goregaon within 24 hours. Police said that the accused was safely released from custody and the child was handed over to the family. The accused said that he was abducted because he did not have a child. Police are investigating further in this matter.


Complainant Anita Sharma (name changed) lives under railway bridge at Goregaon East. Their five-year-old son Ram Sharma (name changed) was abducted from under a bridge near Goregaon railway station. Accused Karan Kanojia (24) was a friend of the complainant's husband. He picked up the child on February 12. After that, the complainant woman filed a complaint in Borivali Railway Police Station.

Considering the seriousness of the incident, the Railway Police immediately registered a case of kidnapping under Section 137 (2) of the Indian Penal Code. After that, Police Inspector Shinde and the team were assigned to investigate the matter. The accused was found to be in Kalyan area.
