The Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation (NMMC) strives to provide the best healthcare services to the citizens in the rapidly growing Navi Mumbai municipal area. But for the past 9 years, Koparkhairane has been deprived of municipal health services. The new construction of the Municipal Maternal and Child Hospital at Koparkhairane Sector 22 is underway and 90 percent of the work has been completed. It is hoped that the work will be completed soon and it will be available to the citizens.
Koparkhairane Sector 22 used to have a Municipal Maternal and Child Hospital but it has been closed for the past few years. Many pregnant women here have to travel to Airoli which is 7 km away and Vashi Municipal Hospital which is 4 km away. Due to the closure of this hospital, the citizens of this place have to walk 7 to 8 kilometres to the public hospitals of the municipality in Vashi, Nerul, Airoli. On occasion, the support of a private hospital has to be taken.
Facilities in a two-storey building
The new building of the hospital at Koparkhairane will be constructed as a basement and two floors. This hospital will have the same facilities as hospitals in Turbhe and Nerul. Facilities for mothers and children, first aid, emergency department etc. will be provided in the hospital.
