COVID-19: Maharashtra govt issues helpline number for Remdesivir injection
SHARES

Due to a large number of coronavirus patients in the state, there is an acute shortage of beds, oxygen and Remedisivir injections. There is a high demand for Remedesivir injections hence, the Maharashtra government has been set up a helpline number to ensure that injections are easily made available to them.

This will help patients and their relatives to get information about Remedesivir injection vials on a single call.

As there was no control over the sale of Remedesivir, many companies started a large black market racket. Therefore, the state health department has decided to give Remedesivir through the district collector only to the hospitals directly in the case of emergencies.

The helpline number for this will be 1800222365. Patients in need of Remedesivir will have to provide complete information when they call this helpline. The helpline staff will inform the patient to the concerned Collector's Office. If there is a lack of information, the Collectorate will call the concerned person. However, Remedesivir will be given to the hospital where the patient is admitted. Remedivir will not be given to any individual or organisation.

However, this helpline number will not be available for patients in Mumbai. The Mumbai Municipal Corporation and the FDA have been entrusted with the responsibility of providing remediation to Mumbaikars. If someone calls the helpline number, the helpline staff will report it to the municipality.
