The work of a 7.35 km long elevated road between Chirle-Mumbai-Pune Expressway will be started soon that will enable direct access from Nariman Point to Mumbai-Pune Expressway in just an hour. The Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) issued a tender for the construction of this route on Wednesday.
Mumbai Porbandar Project (Shivadi – Nhava Sheva Sea Bridge) has been taken up to reduce the distance between Mumbai and Navi Mumbai. This bridge will speed up the journey between Mumbai-Chirle. But from Chirle onwards one will have to travel on the national highway and this distance is more. Therefore, the Mumbai-Pune expressway will be directly connected by a sea bridge. For this, the MMRDA has decided to construct a 7.35 km stretch between Chirle and Mumbai-Pune Expressway.
