Dipesh Pundalik Mhatre, a strong supporter of Shiv Sena Shinde group's State Youth Sena Secretary and MP Dr Srikant Shinde, joined Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray's party at Matoshree in Mumbai.He claimed that he will be joining the party along with hundreds of his workers on Sunday, but he came along with his brother Jayesh and two former corporators.


Dipesh was trying to join UBT with more than 12 corporators but it seems that many of them stepped back. He met many office bearers including BJP, Shiv Sena but none supported him and refused to support Dipesh.

Kalyan Lok Sabha District Chief Sadanand Tharwal of Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray Party in Dombivli, senior corporator Tatyasaheb Mane, women's leader Vaishali Darekar were not present with Dipesh. Loyal Shiv Sainiks from the Thackeray group had already expressed their displeasure about Dipesh's entry into the party. It is understood that Public Works Minister Ravindra Chavan, Dr. Srikant Shinde had kept a watch so that none of the corporators from their party should go with Dipesh.


Jiten Patil was immediately appointed as Yuva Sena Kalyan Lok Sabha District President by Yuva Sena Working President Purvesh Sarnaik. This post was previously held by Dipesh. MLA Vishwanath Bhoir said that Dipesh Mhatre was a powerful leader, but his departure will not make any difference to Shiv Sena.
