Chief Minister Eknath Shinde’s son Dr. Shrikant Shinde was elected as the group leader in a meeting of the newly elected MPs of the Shiv Sena Shinde faction. Chief Minister Eknath Shinde indicated that his son will not be considered for the ministerial post given to the party.
Chief Minister Eknath Shinde honoured the MPs of the Shiv Sena Shinde group who won the Lok Sabha elections at the official residence 'Varsha'. The MPs of the Shinde group were instructed not to be in touch with any leader of the INDIA alliance.

Shiv Sena Shinde group contested 15 seats in the Lok Sabha elections and won seven of them. Shrikant Shinde (Kalyan), Naresh Mhaske (Thane), Prataprao Jadhav(Buldhana ), Sandipan Bhumre (Aurangabad), Hatkanangle (Dhairyasheel Sambhajirao Mane), Srirang Barane (Maval) and Ravindra Waikar (North West Mumbai) were present in the meeting. Shiv Sena Shinde group is expected to get a cabinet and a state minister post.
