Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde who is on a tour of Pune on Tuesday, August 2, while addressing the public voiced that earlier when their government came to power and their party chief became the CM, they all got down to work. However, back then people would often come and visit him because some people had no time to meet them. Reports claim that this was an indirect dig at Uddhav Thackeray.
Shinde enunciated that he was a minister and also was Uday Samant, however, they left the government. He pronounced that he has worked immensely in his constituency so he does not need an election symbol to get elected by the people.
Shinde then uttered that back then their people suffered and that what was happening in the government was not tolerable. He added that they took the decision to rebel because, in the upcoming elections, Shiv Sena would have only had those many MLAs that could be counted on their fingers.
He claimed that attempts were underway to end Shiv Sena, wherein people were being jailed and were asked to join their parties to save themselves. Shinde went on to question the use of power wherein senior leaders who had worked with Balasaheb Thackeray had to also return from Varsha Bungalow.
Shinde also posed a question on who betrayed whom. He asked if it was them or someone else. Shinde declared that they forged the natural alliance of Shiv Sena again and this government is that of the people.
On the same day, rebel MLA Uday Samant's car was attacked in Pune. This was strongly condemned by Shinde. Moreover, the Pune Police have also made arrests.
