“Vigilant, Prosperous India”: Padma Shri Ujjwal Nikam speaks at CR Vigilance Awareness Week

Padma Shri Ujjwal Nikam, who is a Special Public Prosecutor, was the chief guest at the concluding function of Central Railway Vigilance Awareness Week on November 2, 2020 at GM’s Conference Room, Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus, Mumbai. Shri B K Dadabhoy, Additional General Manager, Central Railway presided over the function.

Shri Ujjwal Nikam spoke on the theme “Vigilant India, Prosperous India”. He also inter-acted with Railway Officers during a question-answer session. Principal Head of Departments, Divisional Railway Managers of all divisions and Other Senior Officers of Central Railway joined the function through Web link.

 “Every citizen of the country should take up the responsibility by remaining vigilant and aware of their surroundings. Offences in railways too can be avoided if the staff is motivated and trained to remain vigilant while performing their duty,” said Shri Ujjwal Nikam.

He urged all the Railway passengers to join in this effort by acting responsibly while travelling. He also appreciated and remembered the presence of mind and role of railway personnel during the terror attacks.

Shri S.K. Pankaj, Senior Deputy General Manager and Chief Vigilance Officer, Central Railway gave a brief introduction of the Chief Guest and invited him to speak on the occasion. The function concluded with Vote of Thanks by Shri S K Pankaj, Senior Deputy General Manager and Chief Vigilance Officer, Central Railway.  Earlier, a film about Shri Ujjwal Nikam was also shown to the audience.

Various activities like online seminar, quiz competition, slogan competition, Hindi essay competition, debates and staff grievances redressal camp and online inter-active session of Vigilance Officers and Inspectors were organised as a part of the Vigilance Awareness Week. Animated videos to help create awareness against corruption were also e-launched during the course of the Vigilance Awareness Week.
