Finally, the Central Railway got its first brand new Bombardier train with air-conditioning (AC) facility in the driver's cabin on Thursday.
The rake entered Kurla shed directly from Integral Coach Factory, Chennai and will be commissioned for operations soon. There will be five ladies compartments and six to eight CCTV cameras in each coach confirmed CR chief spokesperson Sunil Udasi.
So far, four Bombardier trains are running on the CR which were given by Western Railway. For the first time, CR has purchased its own Bombardier train with new features.
It is the first Bombardier rake in the suburban section of Mumbai division wherein the driver's cabin — both in the front and on the rear side of the train — are air-conditioned.''

An official added that although the CR did not get an AC train, new Bombardier train from Integral Coach Factory, Chennai is partially AC (driver cabins).
