The Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation (MSRTC) has announced a good news for the passengers travelling from Mumbai to Konkan for celebrating Ganesh Chaturthi. The corporation has allowed the passengers to book the State Transport buses 60 days in advance. With this, the passengers can book tickets for single as well as return journey.
Transport Minister and ST Corporation President, Diwakar Raote said that currently, the service has been introduced on a trial basis and if MSRTC gets good response, then they will look to make it a permanent option for the passengers.

Earlier, the tickets could be booked only 30 days in advance and therefore, the people visiting their native villages at Konkan had to stand for hours at bus stops at Mumbai to get a reserved ticket.

Accordingly, the service will be available for the passengers July 27 onwards and in order to make necessary changes, the reservation service will be shut down from July 26 4:00 pm to 12:30 am.
Alongside, the State Transport Corporation has decided to introduce extra buses for the passengers travelling to Konkan from Mumbai. Therefore, 2,200 more buses will be running for the passengers prior to Ganesh Chaturthi.
