In order to assess the arrangements for Ganesh Chaturthi ahead of Ganeshotsav 2024, Bhushan Gagarani, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) chief, toured the beaches on September 4. Bhushan Gagarani also emphasized on the importance of keeping roadways well-maintained and public places clean during the festival.
To guarantee that there is no inconvenience to devotees and residents during Ganeshotsav, he directed workers, personnel, and municipal authorities to be extremely proactive and alert throughout the celebration.
In an official statement, the BMC Commissioner Gagarani exclaimed that he spoke with residents, maintenance staff, law enforcement officers, and lifesavers while conducting the inspection.
BMC Commissioner Gagarani stated that the civic body has been busy getting ready for this year's Ganesh celebration. Some of the preparations include pothole repairs, upkeep of Ganesh visarjan paths, and tree pruning. The routes by which Ganesh idols arrive and the visarjan routes are receiving particular attention. The names of the dangerous bridges have previously been released by the BMC, and in order to maintain efficient traffic flow, cooperation with the police is crucial.
Commissioner Bhushan Gagarani visited Versova Beach and Juhu Beach on September 3 to have a look at the civic services arrangements. Alongside him were Vishwas Shankarwar, the Assistant Commissioner of the K West Ward, and other members of the civic administration, who holds the position of Deputy Municipal Commissioner for Zone 4.

Additionally, the civic body had issued a list of 12 important bridges to refrain from congregating while carrying Ganesh idols.
The advisory focuses on the bridges that connect Dadar and Churchgate. The BMC has banned crowding for the sixth year in a row. It was initiated in 2019. Last year, 13 bridges were on the list, but this year one of them in Ghatkopar has been taken off owing to ongoing works.
According to the statement released by the civic body, he emphasized how crucial it was to maintain increased efficiency and attentiveness throughout the celebration. Not only should major thoroughfares be kept clean, but also side streets, alleys, impoverished neighborhoods, and other comparable places. Beaches and promenades should be kept cleaner, and waste should be picked up and transported more frequently.
Besides, Gagarani examined the setups for parking lots, German tents, garbage collecting vessels, volunteers at immersion locations, waste carriers, dangling wires, and fake ponds.
The statement mentioned that the BMC head pointed out the importance of the BMC providing first-rate amenities during the Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations and recommended that the holiday be celebrated in an environmentally responsible way.
Ganesh Chaturthi will be celebrated on September 7, marking the start of the 10-day festivity. On Anant Chaturdashi, which is the last day, the celebrations come to a close after the idol of Lord Ganesha is immersed in water.
