Mumbai: Two bike-borne assailants fired shots at developer in Chembur

A developer was shot at near the signal near Acharya Atre Udyan in Chembur. It is reported that two bikers opened fire at him where they fired two bullets at 9:50 pm. One of the bullets touched his cheek while the second bullet hit the car, shattering the glass. The developer has been identified as Sadruddin Khan (50) and has been admitted to Zain Hospital for treatment. It is not yet clear why and who fired the shots. The police have started an investigation into the matter.


The builder, who lives in Belapur, was travelling towards Panvel on the Sion-Panvel highway when two bikers suddenly came and opened fire on the builder's Defender car. According to police sources, no one was injured in the incident. Sources have informed that the developer in question is a close associate of MP Varsha Gaikwad. Bullet cartridges (shells) have been found at the place where the firing took place. Based on that, the police are investigating further.

Forensic team arrives, area sealed

A forensic team of Mumbai Police has arrived at the scene and the entire area has been sealed. Builder Sadruddin Khan was accompanied by his driver in the car. Now the police will bring him to the scene and inquire about the incident from him.
