On Friday morning, a water pipeline burst open in Kalina and caused wastage of thousands of litres. The roads were completely filled with water which caused disruption for the residents as well the commuters. In response, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) resorted to immediate measures to fix the burst and repaired the pipeline.

The reason for the burst has still not been clear but it is being said that the construction work of Metro was being conducted at Kalina and one of the reasons for the leakage can be the construction work. More importantly, the incident is a terrible mishap because a part of the state has been adversely affected by drought and on the other hand, gallons of water was wasted at Kalina.  

Meanwhile, after the pipeline broke, the roads were filled with water causing traffic and disruption. The commuters already face inconvenience daily due to the Metro work and adding to their woes, the pipeline burst made their situation worse.
