Mumbai – The Vinoba Bhave Nagar police have arrested seven BJP activists including an official BJP candidate for attacking the newly elected MNS corporator.
The arrested accused are identified as Sudhir Khatul (40), BJP candidate, Kiran Pawar (31), Hemant Pawar (32), Sunil Madhgunde (28), Gajanan Korwe (35), Ganesh Kesarwadi (19) and Vaibhav Gurulkar (19).
MNS candidate Sanjay Turde was declared elected from ward no. 166 in the BMC election. The win of MNS was not liked by some BJP workers and hence they attacked Turde with iron rods, sticks, sword etc. Turde sustained critical injuries in the attack. Police arrested all these BJP workers on Friday and presented in the local court that sent them in police custody for four days.
