In a significant turn of events, Shiv Sena leader Aaditya Thackeray has raised concerns over the future of Eknath Shinde, the current Chief Minister of Maharashtra. Thackeray's remarks come as a response to the political landscape that took place recently in the state.
Thackeray alleged that Shinde's position as CM may be at risk due to recent political developments.
He also criticised Shinde for his mishandling during monsoon situation. He also claimed that Mumbai's infrastructure had collapsed under his watch. Furthermore, Thackeray accused the Shinde government of engaging in favouritism and indulging in corruption during the selection of officials.

In response to this, Eknath Shinde has denied these allegations and asserts that his job is secure. He firmly denied any signs of rebellion within the Shiv Sena. Shinde also emphasised his commitment to serving as chief minister and assured the public of his steadfast position.
Chandrashekhar Bawankule, the BJP state president, dismisses rumours of a potential change in leadership and affirms that Shinde will continue to hold the post of chief minister. Bawankule's statement aligns with Shinde's assertions, adding to the complexity of the situation.
He also added that Mumbai's infrastructure had "completely collapsed" and accused the Shinde government of playing favourites. As tensions rise, Aaditya Thackeray continues to criticise Shinde, referring to him as the "illegal CM". He also accused him of engaging in a political circus to protect his position.
Meanwhile, the Shinde-Fadnavis administration plans to announce a second cabinet expansion next week. The expansion is expected to include several leaders from both the BJP and the Shiv Sena.
