There is a good news for Mumbaikars. Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav has claimed that the number of trips of local trains will be increased now, as per the report by Mid Day. Now, instead of every three minutes, local trains will be available every two and a half minutes.

Combined communication based train control CBTC system along with a local cover system will be added on all the three lines to overcome the technical problems of local trains. Therefore, the distance between the two local trains will come from 180 seconds to 150 seconds i.e. two and a half minutes. Mumbai will be the first city to implement this system.

Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav has given information about this system. Meanwhile, due to this new experiment, Mumbaikars will now get local trains within two and a half minutes.
