Atal Setu was inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on January 12. Motorists who were being ignored despite flouting rules will now be shown no mercy. Soon, motorists crossing the 21.8 km long Atal Setu will start getting challans for violating the rules.
They will be fined for lane cutting, speeding and driving without a seat belt. Owing to the Lok Sabha elections, the government prolonged the process of levying fines on vehicles violating the rules.
