Ajit Pawar's question of Thane hospital deaths leads to uneasiness in Shinde group

Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar directly asked Chief Minister Eknath Shinde in a ministerial meeting regarding the death in a hospital in Thane. It is said that Shinde's close associates will make a demand to the BJP leaders to keep Ajit Dada in check.

Ajit Pawar directly asked Chief Minister Shinde that 'how come there are so many deaths in your thana'. Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis sidestepped the original issue to prevent the controversy from escalating further. Therefore, there was no further communication between Shinde and Pawar on this issue. Ever since Ajit Pawar joined the government, the Shiv Sena's Shinde faction has been uneasy. MLAs of the Shinde group expressed their displeasure over the inclusion of the NCP in the government. As the Shinde group had to lose some important accounts including agriculture, there was an adverse reaction among the ministers.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi recently tweeted and praised Eknath Shinde as a hardworking and dynamic Chief Minister. While Modi has praised the Chief Minister, the Shinde group is also unhappy with Ajit Pawar's attempts to use the Thane incident as an excuse to make a political racket. Ajit Pawar is eyeing the post of Chief Minister. Since his rebellion in the Nationalist Party, his mention as the 'future Chief Minister' also upsets the MLAs of the Shinde group. Some leaders of the Shinde faction had asked Fadnavis what the facts were. After that, Fadnavis had made it clear that only Shinde will remain as Chief Minister.

What is the discussion?

There is talk among Shinde group ministers that Shinde was not very interested in Ajit Pawar's direct questioning. The Shinde group is looking at what will be the role of BJP leaders and especially Fadnavis at such a time. Union Home Minister Amit Shah played an important role in getting Ajit Pawar with the BJP. Due to this, if there is any more bitterness between Shinde and Pawar, the discussion has already started as to who the BJP leadership will lean on.
