The BJP has started preparations for the upcoming Assembly elections in the state, Union Environment Minister Bhupendra Yadav has been appointed as the in-charge and Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav as the joint in-charge. After the failure in the Lok Sabha elections, the BJP is facing a big challenge to regain power in the state.
Preparations have already started in all the states where assembly elections are near. Both Bhupendra Yadav and Vaishnav have been entrusted with the responsibility of the state. Among these, Bhupendra Yadav is considered to be an expert in organisational matters. He is always involved in BJP's election strategy. Earlier during the 2019 assembly elections, he was in-charge of Maharashtra. At that time, BJP won the most seats in the state. This time Yadav has been entrusted with the responsibility of the state.
In the Lok Sabha elections, the BJP won only nine seats in the state. The number has decreased by 14 from the 23 won last time. Sharing seats with Shiv Sena Shinde group and NCP's Ajit Pawar group in grand alliance will be a big headache. Maintaining the power of Maharashtra is a big challenge for BJP. Bhupendra Yadav has to plan in this regard.
In Haryana, where elections are being held along with Maharashtra, the BJP has appointed Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan as in-charge and former Tripura Chief Minister Viplab Kumar Dev as co-in-charge. For Jharkhand, Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has been appointed as in-charge while Assam Chief Minister Hemant Biswa Sarma has been appointed as joint in-charge.
