In a recently taken decision, the Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation (MIDC) has agreed to assign plots at 10 locations across the state which will be used for setting up ESI hospitals, which will provide healthcare facilities to the workers in the industrial estates. Information regarding the same was given by Minister of State for Industry, Subhash Desai.
Present during the annoucement were Minister of State for Industry Aditi Tatkare, Secretary of Industries Venugopal Reddy, CEO of MIDC Dr P. Anbalgan among other officers
Sharing more information regarding the project, officials said that the work of providing health services to the workers from the industrial sector is done through the help of ESI hospitals and keeping the same in mind, the government has decided to ensure that these plots are made available plots in the industrial area as per the demand set for a hospital.
Furthermore, MIDC has agreed on allocating plots in Sinnar, Taloja, Palghar, Jalgaon, Aurangabad, Raigad, Roha, Chakan and Satara and Panvel. This decision will eliminate the need for workers to take leave or unpaid leave
Apart from boosting the industrial development of the state, a number of issues related to job creation and relief to the workers were also approved, whereby, it was decided to give 25 per cent concession will be given to recover the arrears of the corporation which has been pending against various industries due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Moreover, the proposal for Virar-Dahanu Road railway line and the transfer of land at Mauje Khaira Boisar in Tarapur Industrial Area for this project was also approved.
Minister also informed that INR 25 lakhs will be given to the officers and employees (Class 1 to 4) of the fire brigade of the corporation in case of their death while on duty and in an emergency. An important decision to submit a proposal to the state government regarding granting him the status of martyrs was also taken at the meeting
Approval to reduce the rates of industrial plots in Malegaon taluka was considered which will give a boost to the textile industry here. Along with this, it was decided that the price of land in Dindori industrial estate in Nashik district will also be reduced by 10 per cent.
