We will not entertain bullet train
Maharashtra Navnirman Sena’s president Raj Thackeray protested against Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s dream project Mumbai – Ahmedabad bullet train. He said that MNS will not allow construction of the bullet train corridor until commuters get better facilities from Indian Railways. He made this remark at a press conference on Saturday. He also took a dig at the state government for the Elphinstone stampede.

People can barely walk on the railway bridge and these people want a bullet train. If Modi wants the bullet train, he better do it in Gujarat. We know that he ousted Suresh Prabhu and appointed Piyush Goyal for the same. Better than this Piyush, we get tasty Piyush (milk drink) at our Aaswad hotel,” Raj Thackeray.

The Elphinstone stampede was an unfortunate one
The incident that took place at Elphinstone bridge was an unfortunate one. The reason I did not visit the site as I didn't want to burden the police. Our MNS leaders Sanjay Gavate and Bala Nandgaonkar have been fighting for the same since 10-15 years now. The railways revert back to Nandgaonkar saying that the responsibility is of MMRDA.

Will protest at Railway Headquarters on October 5
Raj Thackeray said that they will curate all the information of all railway stations and on October 5, they will carry out the protest at railway headquarters.

They can't buy an underwear and they wish to buy a suit
Instead of working on improving the facilities they want to bring in a bullet train. Neither UPA government nor BJP did anything for the common man. The colour of the note changed. Unless and until people from outside don't stop coming to Mumbai, nothing is going to change. He also took a dig at BJP saying that they don't have money to buy underwear and wish to buy a suit.

Maharashtra’s Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis paid a late-night visit to KEM Hospital and met injured patients and their relatives. The stampede which took place on  Elphinstone bridge on September 29, claimed lives of 22 people and 39 were injured. CM said that he was in touch with railway minister Piyush Goyal the entire time. CM added that Goyal has asked for an investigation. and upon investigation, the guilty will be punished and audit will also be done.
