The benchmark indices closed in red on 12th March 2021 dragged by Automobile and Financial stocks.
At close, the Sensex was down 487.43 points or 095 per cent at 50,792.08, while Nifty was down 143.80 points or 0.95 per cent at 15,031. About 1335 shares have advanced, 1626 shares declined and 174 shares remain unchanged.
On the Nifty 50 index, BPCL (2.70 per cent), IOC (2.48 per cent), Power Grid Corp. (2.28 per cent), JSW Steel (1.15 per cent) and Titan Company (0.76 per cent) were the top gainers for the day, while Bajaj Auto (-3.13 per cent), Hindalco (-2.98 per cent), SBI Life Insurance (-2.28 per cent), HDFC Life (2.81 per cent) and Maruti Suzuki (-2.42 per cent) were the top losers for the day.
On the sectoral front, all sectoral indices ended in red led by Nifty Auto (-1.66 per cent) and Nifty Bank (-1.23 per cent).
The BSE Midcap index lost 0.45 per cent, while the BSE Smallcap index gained 0.14 per cent).
Author’s View: Traders are advised to refrain from building fresh buying position until Nifty breaks out above 15,250.
