‘Education for All’, that is what we have been taught for years and a recent incident proves that it is right. Taxi-driver Farook Shaikh completed his graduation along with his son! While graduation is a special moment in every student’s life, this student’s desire to graduate was never down even after he had to leave his studies owing to his deteriorating financial condition.

Over fifty years of age, Mohammad Farook Shaikh was glad to have completed his graduation with his 20-year old son. Shaikh completed his graduation in Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com).


There’s no age to study. I’m happy that I’ve completed my graduation. My excitement toward studies grew more. I hope that I pursue M.Com,” Shaikh quoted by ANI.


While his journey wasn’t a piece of cake, his son Hazim taught Shaikh every night after his father returned from work. Shaikh completed his graduation from the Y.B. Chavan Maharashtra Open University whereas his son completed his graduation from Mumbai University in which, Hazim scored 56 per cent and Shaikh completed his graduation with 49 per cent.
