21 people died in separate incidents in the state during Ganpati Visarjan. Nine people have died in North Maharashtra, seven in Vidarbha and one in Virar. Apart from this, one person drowned in Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar, two in Nagar district and one in Indapur.


A young woman, including three children, was killed and 10 people were injured when a tractor rammed into a crowd after the driver lost control during a Ganpati immersion procession at Chittor village in Dhule district. Pari alias Divyani Bagul (13), Ladu alias Aditya Pawar (3), Shera Sonawane-Jadhav (6) and Gayatri Pawar (20) died after being crushed by the tractor.

A young man who had gone for Ganesh immersion in Totale Lake in Virar East has drowned in the lake. The name of this young man is Amit Mohite (24). Amit had come down for immersion at Virar's Totale lake. During this time Amit suffered a stroke and fell into the water.
