Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) Commission Praveen Pardeshi has ordered to deposit the deducted salaries in bank accounts of the employees before June 10. Earlier, due to a technical error in the biometric system, the salaries of almost 70,000 employees were deducted.

Along with this, the civic body employees will also get benefits of the insurance policy similar to the state government's scheme. The employees who had undertaken surgery or any kind of treatment since August 1, 2017, will be reimbursed.

BMC Commissioner Pardeshi asserted that the salaries of the BMC Assistant and Deputy Commissioner will be stopped if the biometric system is faulty.

The leaders from the Mumbai Metropolitan Workers' Association Coordination Committee had earlier discussed the issue related to 'deducted' salaries with the BMC Commissioner. Of the 70,000 employees, nearly 20,000 people got ₹0 as their salary.
