Mumbai- In the last few days, many fire incidents were reported in Mumbai. But, due to lack of water resources, fire brigade department faced a lot of problems. To solve this grave issue, BMC will do the mapping of the water hydrant across Mumbai city. There are 10, 843 water hydrants in the city out of which, 1,353 water hydrants are working while the rest 9,290 are non-functional. Many of the water hydrants have been destroyed due to the development project while others got buried.
BMC commissioner Ajoy Mehta has asked the authorities concerned to submit the water hydrant information to the disaster management department.
