Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis announced a 100-day transformation plan for the state government on Monday, December 9. The plan will bring accountability, speed, and transparency to the working of state government. It will also focus on improving coordination between central and state governments for faster funding for projects and social programs.
As per reports, Fadnavis held a meeting with state department secretaries to make citizen-centric and long-lasting government reforms. As per sources, Fadnavis urged the administration to be sensitive and service-orientated. The Chief Minister stressed that citizens should not face hardships over minor issues. He directed the government to make sure that services are delivered at people's doorsteps.
Setting up War Rooms
The plan includes setting up war rooms to monitor key projects. One war room will focus on flagship projects, while another will track infrastructure development. These war rooms will also identify bottlenecks and resolve them.
Automated Systems
The government plans to promote e-governance to get rid of manual processes. Departmental websites will be updated, and an automated system for reports and data management will be introduced. Fadnavis also asked officials to study how other states use technology and adopt best practices.
Technology will play a big role. The government will host hackathons and install fibre optic networks to connect anganwadis and other institutions.
New Employees
To improve efficiency, the state will train newly hired staff and promote existing employees. The government will also teach the necessary skills. Department secretaries have been asked to identify training needs and design programs.
Aaple Sarkar Portal
The plan will also see the activation of the "Aaple Sarkar" portal. This portal will provide citizens with a single access point for various government services. It will be integrated with the Right to Services Act. Department secretaries have been instructed to resolve complaints within a set timeframe and keep citizens updated.
