No casualties or injuries have been reported so far. It has been speculated that the cause of the fire is a short circuit however, the actual cause is yet to be known. There has been severe damage to the property with many cars and bikes being engulfed in fire.

As the lanes of Bhendi Bazar are very small it was very difficult for fire engines to reach the spot. Notably, Bhendi Bazar is close to Dongri where a  building had collapsed on July and the fire engines were unable to get in owing to the narrow lanes.
