In a significant development, the work of the second phase of the Mumbai Metro 3 line, which runs between BKC to Cuffe Parade, is nearing completion. Due to this, the entire line of Metro 3 is likely to be started soon. It is expected that the entire line of the metro will be put into service for Mumbaikars before monsoon.
The work of laying the tracks on the 21 km long stretch has been completed by MMRC. With this, the overall work of the second phase on the line has been completed by 88.1 per cent.

The work of the stations and tunnels in it is 99 per cent complete. While the work of the system has been completed by 58.7 per cent.

In the first phase of Metro 3, the Aarey to BKC line has been put into service for passengers since October. There are 10 stations on this line.

The total length of the Colaba-Bandra-Seepz Metro 3 line is 33.5 km. There are a total of 27 stations on this line. The specialty of this project is that this entire line is underground except Aarey station.
