According to sources, Minister of Relief and Rehabilitation, Disaster Management, Vijay Wadettiwar has informed that funds have been allocated in order to deal with the expenditure incurred before March 31, 2021.
Speaking about the same, Wadettiwar said that the Divisional Commissioners of Konkan, Pune, Nashik and Aurangabad have received funds to meet the expenditure incurred before March 31, 2021. Taking into consideration the recommendations made along with the matter of the State Disaster Response Fund, as per the approval given by the State Executive Committee in its meeting held on April 27, 2021, INR 141,64,21,000 has been provided.
Moreover, of this, INR 7319.97 lakhs has been distributed to the Divisional Commissioner Konkan, INR 5573.85 lakhs for the Divisional Commissioner Pune, INR 245.20 lakhs for the Divisional Commissioner of Nashik and INR 1025.19 lakhs for the Divisional Commissioner of Aurangabad.
Meanwhile, a few days ago, Deputy Chief Minister and Finance Minister Ajit Pawar had decided to allow 30 per cent of the funds of the District Planning Committee to be used for the prevention of COVID-19 in order to make the fight against coronavirus more effective. He also announced that the Divisional Commissioners would be empowered to approve the cost of facilities in the acquired private hospitals to intensify the fight against the pandemic.
Furthermore, it was decided to empower the Divisional Commissioners for the procurement of machinery and equipment required for private hospitals acquired by the Government. In addition, Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar had directed to provide the necessary treatment and necessary machinery and equipment to the coronavirus patients in the state immediately.
