The Thane traffic police and the Thane Municipal Corporation (TMC) installed 'tire killers' near the Thane railway station to deter vehicles travelling in the wrong direction. Speed breakers were installed on Shivaji Road, the nearest road to Thane railway station. 


But instead of vehicles, tire killers have injured the pedestrians who use this route to reach the railway station. It is reported that around seven people were seriously injured due to this speed breaker.


This tire killer poses a risk of injuring pedestrians. According to media reports, several people have already been injured by this new device. Citizens of Thane have been requesting to install such devices in less busy areas instead of busy roads leading to the station.

The main purpose of tire killers is to prevent vehicles from driving on the wrong side and reduce traffic congestion. Stopping accidents due to wrong side driving in the city. Residents of Thane are saying that this device can harm them too.


According to reports, seven people have been injured by these tire killers, as they create obstacles for pedestrians. Therefore, they are requesting the Thane Municipal Corporation to consider installing such devices on less busy roads in Thane.


According to The Times of India, the Thane traffic police said they will take further decisions on the tire killer after receiving feedback from the public. He also said that they have already put up warning boards on the roads, which inform and alert pedestrians about the tire killer. They are also requested to avoid walking on that road.
