Airbags are installed in the car for the safety of the passenger in the event of an accident. However, a six-year-old boy died due to the same airbag in a car in Navi Mumbai. The name of the boy who died in the accident on Saturday is Harsh and his father was driving the car. The SUV driving in front of their car hit the divider and flew into the air, hitting the bonnet of the car behind.
A case has been registered against SUV driver cosmetic surgeon Dr. Vinod Pachade (40) for causing death by irresponsible driving. The victim's son Harsh had no injury on his body. But doctors speculated that he died of shock and bleeding due to polytrauma (injury at more than one place on the body). Harsh's three younger siblings and father were also traveling in the car, who sustained minor injuries. Dr. Pachode also got minor injuries.
What exactly happened?
The deceased boy's father runs a stationery shop and lives in Vashi with his brother. After returning home late on Saturday night, son Harsh and his nephews insisted on eating Panipuri. At this time, Harsh was sitting in the front seat of the car and other children were sitting behind.

Harsh's father Mawji Arethia said, "When we reached the Blue Diamond Hotel Junction in Sector 28 at 11:30 pm, the SUV in front of us lost control and hit the divider. I was very close to it, I hit the brakes, but the rear of the SUV flew 6 to 7 feet in the air and crashed on the bonnet of my car. The airbags in my car went off immediately”.
Meanwhile, Assistant Inspector of Vashi Police Station Deepak Gavit said that Harsh became unconscious after the airbag hit. He was declared dead at the Municipal Hospital. Police said Dr Pachade did not run away from the spot but went to Vashi police station to give his statement. He was called again on Monday. He was served notice as required under the Indian Civil Protection Code. He has also been directed to cooperate and appear in court when the charge sheet is filed.
