In a tragic incident, a 75-year-old lost his life at Ozon swimming pool owing to the injuries he sustained from a youth who allegedly jumped on him from a height. This incident took place on April 23, at Ozon swimming pool in Goregaon West.
As per the reports, the victim was identified as Vishnu Samant, who was a regular visitor who had been coming to the swimming pool for the past month with his grandson.
Details of the incident
On the day of the incident, Samant and his 14-year-old grandson Neel arrived at the Ozone pool in Siddharth Nagar for swimming between 5 pm and 6 pm. An hour later, Neel called up his grandmother and informed her that grandfather had become unconscious.
The pool staff then rushed Samant to Kapadia Hospital, where he was declared dead on arrival. He had sustained injuries to his neck and other parts of his body. The Goregaon Police has registered an FIR under section 304 (A) IPC against the 20-year-old youth responsible for the incident.

Charges against the accused
Based on the complaint filed by Samant's wife, the police have charged the 20-year-old person responsible for the incident with causing death by negligence. The accused had allegedly jumped into the pool from a height, causing the victim fatal injuries.
