Two Ganesh Mandal activists who were putting up placards on the road were hit by a speeding BMW car in the early hours of Saturday morning in Mulund area. In this accident, one activist died and another is in critical condition.


The incident took place in the early hours of Saturday morning near Akriti Tower in Gavanpada, Mulund. Around four in the morning, activists Pritam Thorat and Prasad Patil were putting up the board of the Ganesh Mandal, popularly known as the King of Mulund. At the same time, a BMW car was going towards Mulund East at high speed. At that time the driver suddenly lost control of the car and that car hit both of them hard. After the collision, the driver fled the scene without help.

As soon as the other workers of the mandal came to know about this, they immediately rushed to the spot and admitted both of them to the hospital. But Pritam Thorat died before treatment. Prasad Patil's condition is serious. Mulund police have registered a case and started searching for the accused.
