In an outrageous event that occurred at a birthday celebration turned into a horrifying crime scene. A 45-year-old man, identified as Rajendra Shinde, allegedly stabbed his son and wife following the late arrival of his birthday cake. The incident took place on Sunday, June 2, in Mumbai's Sakinaka area in the Ashok Nagar Pipeline neighbourhood.
The accused, Rajendra's birthday was on Saturday, June 1. The accused's wife, Ranjana Shinde, is a domestic helper. She got delayed at work and brought the cake home at 12:15 pm the next day. The delay angered him, and it started an argument with his wife.
Later, Rajendra started abusing her. Seeing this, their 22-year-old son tried to intervene. In response, the accused stabbed his son in the chest and below the ribs. When Ranjana tried to save her son, Rajendra stabbed her on the wrist.
Neighbours rushed both of them to a local hospital. While the son is being treated at Rajawadi Hospital in Ghatkopar, Ranjana was discharged after receiving medical attention.
A case under Section 307 (murder attempt) of the Indian Penal Code has been filed against Rajendra Shinde. The police, led by PSI Sagar Jadhav and overseen by DCP Mangesh Shinde and Senior Inspector Chimte, are conducting a thorough investigation.
Following the attack, Rajendra Shinde fled the scene and is currently evading the Sakinaka police. It was also revealed that Rajendra frequently quarreled with his wife over minor issues. The Sakinaka police are looking for Rajendra Shinde.
