Murder of Siddiqui to create dominance, Mumbai Police Crime Branch claims in 4590 page charge sheet

The Mumbai Police Crime Branch on Monday claimed that the notorious gangster Anmol Bishnoi, who is on the run, killed MLA Baba Siddiqui to create terror and dominance through his organised gang. The crime branch made this claim by filing a 4590-page charge sheet in the special MCOCA court.


Action was taken against the accused arrested in connection with Siddiqui's murder under the Maharashtra Control of Organized Crime Act (MCOCA). As part of the same, the crime branch filed a charge sheet against the arrested accused in the special Mokka court in this case on Monday. 

It claims that Anmol Bishnoi along with members of his organised crime gang hatched and executed a conspiracy against Siddiqui with the intention of creating terror and dominance. A total of 29 persons have been accused in the charge sheet and 26 of them have been arrested. Jailed gangster Lawrence Bishnoi's brother Anmol along with Mohammad Yasin Akhtar and Shubham Lonkar have been shown as absconding accused.

The police have so far recorded the statements of 88 people and a total of 180 witnesses including former MLA and Siddiqui's son Zeeshan have been attached with the charge sheet. In addition, the police have also mentioned in the charge sheet that five guns, six magazines and 35 mobile phones were seized.


What's in the charge sheet?

The police have already told the court that Lawrence Bishnoi also played a major role in this crime. His fugitive brother Anmol runs a separate gang that is mainly active in Uttar Pradesh, Haryana and Madhya Pradesh. This tribe of Bishnoi is trying to establish its supremacy. The chargesheet also said that an extradition proposal was sent to the US in November for Anmol's alleged involvement in Siddiqui's murder and other important criminal cases. The chargesheet also states that the National Investigation Agency (NIA) had announced a reward of INR 10 lakh for anyone who would reveal Anmol's whereabouts and a lookout notice had been issued against him in April.
